The Most Anticipated Smartphones of 2021

The scale of evolution in the tech world in its countless spheres has always been a source of constant hype and excitement for tech-gurus, as well as laymen. Just four months into 2021, the smartphone world has proven beyond doubt that there will always be a next big thing that will constantly keep people on the edge of their seats, waiting in anticipation.

Here are the four most anticipated smartphones of the year.

1. Apple iPhone 13
With only six months gone by since the release of the iPhone 12, a lot of early rumors have begun regarding the possible upgrades in the upcoming iPhone 13, which is set to release this September. It is speculated that the sensor-shift optical image stabilization technology from iPhone 12 pro max will be brought on to the entire iPhone 13 series, along with a reduction in the size of the notch. There might be an upgrade to a 48-megapixel camera to support 8K video recording. Other less confirmed speculations involve Apple ramping up the storage to 1TB and the screen refresh rate to 120Hz.

2. Google Pixel 5A
Google had a really good year with the release of Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5g, and Pixel 5 in the latter months of 2020. Google is now looking ahead to release the next flagship model in the series; Pixel 5a 5g. It is expected to come out sometime after the Google I/O 2021 in May, but dates are largely unconfirmed. A lot of rumors have hinted that the Pixel 5a will be getting a smaller punch-hole camera, a larger battery, upgraded dual cameras, and an updated chipset or, most likely, the Snapdragon 765G from Pixel 5.

3. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3
Recent rumors hint that Samsung’s third-generation folding phone is set to come out by the end of the summer this year with major changes in its design. For starters, Fold 3 will be having three rear cameras and also an under-display camera. The most hyped possible upgrade is the inclusion of an S Pen slot, as it is the first in its series to bring about such a remarkable feature. On the other hand, the Flip 3 (not Flip 2, as one would assume) will have a 120Hz display and a flagship Snapdragon 865 plus chipset with a sleeker look, thanks to the improved ultra-thin glass display.

4. Huawei P50 series
According to leaked design renders, the Huawei P50 Pro will have a centrally-mount selfie camera cutout and a curved display. There seems to be an IR blaster fitted in the renders, but it is still unconfirmed. There also seems to be no sign of a headphone jack present in both P50 and P50 Pro models. The P50 Pro is expected to have Huawei’s Kirin 9000 chipset and have an 8GB RAM and a 5x telephoto and periscope camera.
